August 11 – Disembark ship Nüremburg, Germany

Pretty much everyone was off the ship today by 10:00 am except us.  Since we are only transferring to a hotel in Nüremburg we decided to stay on ship until afternoon (with wi-fi) when we would be likely to be able to get into our hotel.

So today we are working on future travel plans, emails, pictures, the blog, etc.   It is a work day for us.

In the meantime the crew is setting up for the next cruise.  It turns out the next cruise was a private cruise.  The ship was reserved for a private cruise by Rick Braun, apparently a world famous smooth jazz trumpeter (we’ve never heard of him) for a concert/cruise (which sold out).  The crew spent the morning setting up a large (but low) stage in the lounge to be used by the performers.  We even met and shook hands with Rick.

Around 2 o’clock we caught our taxi and headed to our hotel/home in the center of Nüremburg.

We unpacked and did more worked on our pictures and future travel plans.

In the evening we headed out to find dinner and ended up in an Italian restaurant.  Since Paul is vegetarian and the typical German cuisine is heavy into meat it was difficult to find restaurants that weren’t all meat…hence the Italian.

The restaurant was on a main square that we had seen the day before on our city tour.  The fountain and church were lit and looked magical.
