August 5 – Bratislava, Slovakia

The morning was spent cruising the Danube.

We arrived in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia, mid-day.  Bratislava is a thoroughly enjoyable walking city.  The ship is moored just at the end of a main street so the walking tour just headed out on foot from the ship

We saw some very interesting whimsical statues,

Fountain Ganymede in front of Opera House,

the Roland Fountain in Main Square of the Old Town,

and St. Michael’s Tower (one of the original city wall gate towers).

There were a lot of interesting details on the buildings.

Late afternoon we headed out cruising again.  We both very much enjoyed Bratislava.  It is a great place to visit and explore.
